There are two main goals behind the security camera project. "One, is to protect district property from theft and vandalism and the second is to enhance the feeling of safety in the building," Tullis said.
A solid ongoing exercise is a school security assessment.Such assessments provide a useful evaluation of existing security and safety measures as well as potential weaknesses and recommendations at the building and district levels. Security and administration leaders use such assessments as a tool for mitigating risk, reducing crime and violence threats, and managing potential liability.
Buddy Mason, owner of American Digital Security in Liberty, MO, which installed the system, attributes the end of thefts of football equipment two flat-panel TVs and approximately $70,000 worth of cafeteria food to the new security system.
